The Stavros Halioris Social Centre is a civil non-profit company, located in nortnern Greece. It has been operating since 2010 and was named after Stavros Halioris, the founder and president of the THRACE Plastics Group, who envisioned the creation of the centre.
The aim of the operation of the Social Centre is to support the society by offering educational, artistic, cultural, recreational and social activities for both children and adults.
The Stavros Halioris Social Centre co-operates with other cultural associations, schools, educational institutions, artists, scientists, local authorities, etc.
Amongst its activities are the arts and crafts workshops, as well as the dance classes, addressed to children and adults.

The Stavros Halioris Social Centre has been implementing projects financed with own resources, however, the new management of the centre -with the support of both experienced internal and external EU project management teams- aims to network with identical and complementary entities functioning in other countries and developing sustainable transnational initiatives in arts and culture.

Title of the project:
Transiting local HeRitage and Arts into a new Cultural Era: Education, Inclusion, Adaptation (Acronym : THRACE)
Summary of the proposed project:
The goal of the project is the involvement of socially vulnerable groups in artistic and cultural activities and the creation of a framework where the various forms of art (eg visual arts, dance, theater, etc.) meet environmental sustainability goals set by the lead beneficiary and its partners.
The Stavros Halioris Social Centre will involve young citizens from socially vulnerable areas in Xanthi and the wider region of Thrace in artistic workshops and cultural activities to take place in both the premises of the Social Centre but also in other places, inclusive of the greenhouse operated by the Thrace Plastic Group in northern Greece.
The idea is to implement innovative approaches to unfolding local cultural heritage through arts with the involvement of potentially underrepresented or marginalised groups and raising awareness on environmental sustainability.
The partner organisations will also unfold their cultural heritage through also implementing educational and creative workshops for young adults, taking into consideration environmental issues, local and transnational round tables where a more scientific approach to environmental practices and technologies, according to the standards of the European Green Agreement and many more to be agreed at the partnership level.
The aim is for the partnership to involve max five (5) partners, inclusive of the lead beneficiary.
