Aims and activities of the organisation

teatromosca is a Portuguese theatre company from Sintra

(near Lisbon) that privileges the establishment of co-productions and collaborations with different national and international institutions, is responsible for programming the theatre venue AMAS – Auditório Municipal António Silva and for organizing MUSCARIUM a performing arts festival that runs each year in September, regularly hosting national and international performances, as well as creating its own original artistic projects. The company encourages artistic interaction and exploration of the contemporary urban environment, especially in the contexts of memory and space, and has been creating spaces for research and artistic experimentation, promoting the interaction with different communities, developing exhibitions, seminars, workshops, artistic residencies and touring its own theatrical projects in Portugal and abroad. Even in the context of a pandemic, the company has never stopped working, having adapted and invested in equipment and training teams, in order to live stream performances, seeking to maintain contact with its usual audiences, reaching new publics and also contributing to an increasingly democratized access to Culture. teatromosca will continue to invest in a mixed format for the programming of AMAS and the festival and in the conception of its own performances/projects, presenting them online and at the theatre.
