Aims and activities of the organisation
Founded in 2013. MIK Association has provided a home for talent development programs and youth organizations in Transylvania. It supports youth organizational capacity with a solid institutional background, aiding both professional programs and community-building activities for
Cluj-Napoca-based youth organizations. The role of MIK Association is to embrace and help realize ideas proposed by young people to the best of its abilities. The YZ project is a main initiative of the MIK Association, conducting annual youth research at the largest Hungarian festival in Transylvania, the VIBE Festival in Târgu Mureș. Through this research, the YZ Institute maps and examines youth policy, social, economic, and cultural connections among young people in Romania.
The association is a co-organizer of Transylvania's largest Hungarian festival, the VIBE Festival, which in 2024 reached 112,600 participants. Featuring a diverse range of music performances, professional lectures, high-quality daytime programs, rising designers, support for young musical talents, and unique cultural and musical experiences, VIBE is a landmark event. The event provides a platform for a talent competition supporting emerging Hungarian bands from Transylvania, promotes local designers year-round, and serves as a meeting point for designers during the festival. The MIK Association plays a key role as a partner in planning and executing the festival's cultural and musical programs. The organization has experience in the fields of: event planning; youth research; organizing and executing community-building activities; organizing and managing cultural programs. With its extensive experience, the association is a reliable partner from the design phase through to the implementation and execution of workgroup activities.
