Aims and activities of the organisation: Jazz en Nord is an association based in the Lille metropolitan
area, focused on promoting jazz through two annual editions, one in spring and one in autumn, each lasting approximately two and a half months.
Working with several cities in the region (we don’t own any venue), the association offers a diverse program with both well-
known artists and emerging talents, supported by a team of two employees and about twenty volunteers.
One of our main projects is a jazz competition called Golden Jazz Trophy, open to musicians from all over Europe. This
competition gives young artists the chance to gain visibility and
perform on stage. Today, Jazz en Nord is looking for partnerships with neighboring
countries to introduce emerging French jazz artists abroad, while also bringing foreign talents to France.
We think this project will help up-and-coming jazz musicians
from different countries work together, and give them more chances to play and be seen.
