The team of the Creative Europe Desk Ukraine recently returned from Tallinn, where we participated in the annual Nordic-Baltic Culture Desks Meeting 2025 — the yearly gathering of Creative Europe Desks from Scandinavian and Baltic countries. This year's meeting was held as part of @Tallinn Music Week.
The meeting aims to exchange experiences, best practices, reflections, updates, and new ideas. These gatherings have a long-standing tradition (over 10 years), and Ukraine joined for the second time.
Over several days, together with our colleagues, we discussed:
🤝 Joint events and initiatives, partner search support for applicants, and ways to assist Ukraine.
📈 The future of the EU's Creative Europe programme.
📝 In special working groups, we discussed the use of new partner search tools and addressed key priorities such as environmental sustainability and gender balance.
🇺🇦 A dedicated section focused on supporting Ukraine’s cultural and creative sectors. Mykola Ulyanov presented on the most urgent needs of Ukraine’s cultural sector and optimal strategies for European integration.
We also took part in the industry programme of the festival, particularly the Policy Lab, engaging in discussions about the platformization of the music industry and the challenges faced by artists in this context.
Another highlight was the "Speed Meeting & Consulting with Creative Europe" session — an intense exchange of energy, experience, and ideas between Desk representatives, artists, and cultural professionals. It is during such meetings that new project ideas are often born.
For us, this trip was an opportunity to voice long-standing concerns, listen to colleagues, share our experience, and return home inspired, equipped with concrete ideas already in preparation.
Stay tuned — exciting developments are coming soon! 😉
We sincerely thank our colleagues from the Creative Europe Desk Estonia for their warm hospitality and the incredibly rich programme.
