On May 16, the team of the Creative Europe Desk Ukraine took part in the information event “Ukraine's Integration into the European Research Area” organized by the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. The event brought together representatives of European and Ukrainian institutions to discuss Ukraine's strategic role in the future of the European research ecosystem.
During the session “Ukraine's Integration into the European and Global Research Area and Synergy of European Programs”, Mykola Ulyanov, Head of the Creative Europe Desk Ukraine, made an analytical presentation. In his report, he presented the results of the program's implementation in Ukraine, including the results of the participation of Ukrainian organizations in the 2023-2024 calls for proposals, and also spoke about the most promising ways of synergizing grant programs implemented by the European Commission.
In 2023, 32 Ukrainian organizations participated in 28 projects of the program, and the total amount of support received was more than EUR 4.9 million. The 2024 calls for proposals have already supported 20 projects involving 24 Ukrainian organizations. The areas of support include international cooperation projects, translations of European literature, journalistic partnerships, film festivals, and educational initiatives.
"Creative Europe remains an important tool for European integration through culture. Mykola Ulyanov's speech was an opportunity to once again emphasize the role of the cultural sector as a powerful driver of recovery, innovation, and resilience in times of war.
